Hi
Hope someone can help!
I have just turned on my PC to find the message "the mouse was not found" at the beginning of the startup.
I am running Windows XP and I have not installed any new hardware and software, other than changing the mouse for a new one a couple of days ago, and it was working fine. I have tried other mice and none of them work ( the pointer remains motionless in the centre of the screen)
I have looked in Device Manager in Safe Mode and I can see no Mice listed.
(It is very difficult to navigate the screen without a mouse)
I have tried system restore and this doesn't help either.
Does anyone have any advice they might be able to give please???
Thank you!

what type of mouse have you got?
wireless? check the batteries
try to resync it with the receiver
make sure the receiver is pluged in I expect it is as normally if it isnt then you don't get a cursor on the screen.0 -
If you have a PS2 mouse have you tried a USB one - & vice versa? G0
