Power 2 contact notice - but I have no debt!

but they may owe and have not thought about it, p2c are one of the most buy the book agencys... The notice is printed, with some of the blank spaces only partially completed. Effectively, all it says is for (my address) to contact (name) at (number) within 24 hrs to "avoid any further action being taken".
I.e. neither me, my flat mate, nor anyone else is identified as being the real reciever of this notice
However, my household is NOT in debt, and the notice does not state in any way what this relates to. There is a line stating "This relates to your account:___________" but it's left blank.
If the creditor does not know whose debt it is, then they have no business sending this notice. Instead they should be making enquiries to establish whose debt it was. A notice demanding telephone contact within 24 hours 'to avoid further action' is a disgraceful way of conducting enquiries.0 -

It is actually fishing, generating fear and distress and as such it amounts to harassment in my book. And it is good people who pay their way who are most distressed by this sort of tactic.

I agree 100% !!!
It's an utter shambolic way to do business.
People who recieve phishing texts, emails, or these cards, should register a complaint with the FCA.
Although individual complaints can't be investigated, if enough complaints were recived, it would push the regulator to take action against the worst offenders, as has happened in the payday loan industry.
There is very little regulation where debt collection is concerned, it's high time debt collection agencies were brought to book over practices such as this.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
