Morning just, (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
I slept through OH getting up, so brekkie in bed. Once I was up we went down to the community orchard to see what was ready. Very sad to see that the trees have not been well looked after. Its almost as if they have been planted and left to their own devices. several of the apple trees were weighed down to the ground with very small fruit, they will never get any bigger there are too many in each cluster. Also grease bands have never been put on them and several of the trees have scab. As expected the plum trees have been stripped, pears again far too small. We did manage to find some decent sized apples that were ready to harvest, I have peeled some of them and just flash cooked them, they are cooling ready to go in the freezer.
OH and I had a spat about the strawberries, he does not get the concept, very set in his ways, so he can get on with it. I have told him he can grow the stuff as he likes and I will cook it!!
The marquee is up on the playground in the village ready for the show tomorrow, not sure how much interest there will be. We have to take the stuff down before 11am. Judging is at 2pm and the show is open for viewing at 3pm. Believe it or not the exhibitors have to pay £2 to get in to retrieve their exhibits!!
OH is digging the bed for the lavender down the other side of the front grass, something I have been asking him to do for ages, typical....I have a go at him about something else, so he decides to get into my good books by doing a job I asked him to do ages ago. He did one side and left the other, so the plants will not grow at the same rate next year. Hope they catch up the year after.
Enough moaning about the trial in my life!!
Fine morning, blue sky and white clouds, but brrr......... guess the fire may get lit tonight.0 -
Afternoon all,
Not long got back from going to visit Mom. I discussed my Auntie dying with the carers and they felt Mom was strong enough to take bad news. She was surprised of course and i explained the saga of the diaries and the 'visitation' my 'Cousins' daughter had before she was told that Nanna had died. I dont think i told you about that did i?
She's a bit rattly and ive asked the girls to keep an eye on her. She's not long come off a course of antibiotics... maybe she needs another. They are going to see how she goes and possibly get the doctor out on Monday. Mom was quiet, she obviously realizes that what she is saying doesnt make sense so she's not bothering.... So strange to see her reading the magazines i take her though. She reads them out loud, using the correct words as well. I wish i understood dementia. I'm 99% certain she understands every thing i say though because if i tell her something funny, she laughs.
'Youngest' came back hammered last night... hammered but not sick (i wont have that and he knows it!). He hasnt had any alcohol since he passed his driving test a few weeks ago but he made up for it last night. Him and his friends got a taxi to a club.... Pity he forgot his keys. His mate was stone cold sober when he left 'Youngest' at the door, leaving when he saw that he's got in the house safely. From then on it was just a matter of taking off his shoes, rolling him on his side in bed and sticking his bin close to him just in case. He's wide awake now, doesnt remember a thing but doesnt even have a hangover!
Not sure what today will bring. Food shopping today or maybe tomorrow, we'll see.
Onwards and forwards,

Been MIA for the past few days as major probs with the desk top and my tablet is too slow to use for posting.
DH has built me a new one from scratch this morning and it is a lot faster than the old one, plus I now have a rewriter that works:j
I have been down to the town this morning and picked up a copy of Home Farmer magazine, I have been reading it since it first came out a couple of years ago.
They have a web site if you want to see what sort of things they have in it
