Do I need a fancy tablet?

PS. If you are looking for a pure Android tablet Argos were selling the Nexus 4 2013 model for £100 recently and may well have some left.
Anything other than the Google provided Andriod devices will have some sort of proprietary interface on top of the basic Android. For instance the Hudl comes with a variety of Tesco apps built in but you can simply ignore them of course. There are quite a few alternate launchers if the one the manufacturer decided you should have doesn't suit you.
There is a world of difference between the locked down Apple approach and the very open android world where if you don't like something there will be alternatives available. Some, such as alternative ROMS, may require a bit of expertise or at least the ability to carefully follow instructions to install. There is also the chance that a moments foolishness can brick the device.0 -
I've had an iPad mini, BlackBerry playbook, nexus 7 and a hudl 2.
My favourite one is the hudl 2 which I paid £79 for a refurb from Tesco online. You can put a 32gb SD card taking your storage upto 64gb.0 -
I haven't had all those IDGWIAT, but I've got a Hudl 2, and I think it's brilliant. :cool:0

I took the plunge with a Nook HD+ for £49. It's very cool looking, feels sturdy and works well so far, although I'm still getting used to how it works. It does all I wanted though so should do the job!
Thanks all!0
