Working Tax Credits query

I started work the 05/08 of this year on a minimum 16 hour contract. The max hours my manager gives me is 20. The company I work for is a new store so when it first opened, I did 56 hours in 10 days, setting up store and doing induction/training. But since then, I have just been doing the 16-20 hours.

I called working tax credits to explain that I am now working. Start date, contract hours, etc. I am now worried that working the 56 hours will go against me and it will delay my claim. I get paid calender monthly and not due to get paid again until 25th of this month. My rent is in arrears as they are behind going through claims of housing benefit, so I have that mounting up and because they want 3 pay slips from me, it's just going to mount up even more over the next few months. Money is running low and I am worried that I am gonna be screwed.:(

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

  • Sorry, I currently claim Child tax credits as I was previously on ESA. I found a job, closed ESA and called to let them know and to also claim Working Tax Credits.

I thought it might go against me, because it has with the housing benefit..
  • Ok thank you :)
