Leaflet distribution companies

Anybody use leaflet distribution companies? My hubby reckons they just toss the leaflets somewhere :D. Please let me know of your experiences and any recommendations (London).

No, but we used to get occasional phone calls to check the local free paper had been delivered, and when. As that was usually stuffed full of leaflets your husband's suspicion may be unfounded. My sons were delivering the same paper a few streets over, and they occasionally had a leaflet which had to be delivered separately from the paper.

You can also get leaflets delivered by the local postman.

  • Cant recommend a company etc as I refuse to pay a company to deliver my leaflets, 9/10 they employ somebody who has recently come into the country and most (not all) exploit these workers and treat them like rubbish, id rather not support a company that does that.

Instead I pay one of the local kids £25 and a few bottles of pop to deliver as many as he can and if he does a good job, getting more than I expected him to deliver, delivered then ill give him a little bonus of a extra £5 or something. Id rather do that than use a company. Also helps to put a hard working ethic into a kid (something you rarely find these days).

Do you find it is worthwhile leafletting? I get the impression that most people put leaflets straight in the recycling and that money spent printing and delivering them is probably wasted.

It depends on what business your in, if its fast food then no I don't think its worthwhile as most of the business comes from the phone book or the internet now for them...

Personally - I`m a self employed courier/man and van and removals service guy. Leafleting has bought me in quite a bit of business and I've gotten a few regular customers from it. But I don't leaflet the same areas twice. People get annoyed by that. but yes for me its worthwhile and worth the money spent doing it.

I get a lot of leaflets through the door so I reckon someone must be doing their job and not dumping the leaflets over a hedge. However, I really only look at the very local leaflets from handymen, etc. In fact the more amateurish the leaflet is the more likely I am to look at it. A slick glossy leaflet tends make me think they are from national companies or their local branches so I ignore them as they usually do not tell me anything new.
  • Hi, we recently used a company called DSPRo Limited for delivering 10K leaflets for our new beauty salon in London. The prices were fair, delivery quick (took less than 5 days to deliver), communication very easy and response from people great. The investment came back pretty quickly and we will do another 5K leaflets soon. However is depends which business are you in - we tried to promote baby stuff (for our kids shop) and the response was not so good (but at least it returned the investment).

We live in a University city and because of this we seem to get inundated with food menus. We often get the same menu about 6 times put through the door. They seem to think we are living in a Multi occupancy house.

Any ideas how much leaflet companies charge door to door delivery? Or the Royal Mail?

Royal mail is around £50.00 per 1k i believe

Solous - well it takes about a day to do 1,000 leaflets so anyone charging less than £75.00 is most likely breaking the law or doing as a mulit drop leaflet
