Hi everyone,
I was looking for a cheap UK break to surprise my wife on her upcoming birthday. The dates I'm looking at are Friday the 7th of September - Monday the 10th of Sept. I don't want to spend a fortune I was just looking for somewhere nice and quiet to spend a few romantic days getting away from it all (e.g. the lakes or Wales). Geographically we're based in North Yorkshire so Devon seems a bit of a trek.
Does anyone have any suggestions to to where i should be looking.
Thanks in advance

If you like the Lakes, then how about the Peak District? Spectacular scenery, lovely little towns and villages and plenty of nice B&B's and holiday cottages which are often available for short breaks out of season (try cottages4u.co.uk, or google peak district+holiday cottages). It's probably as scenic as the lakes, possibly even better for walking IMHO, but much cheaper. Ashbourne, Bakewell, Matlock, Buxton and Hathersage are the main towns but there's loads of accommodation all over the region.0

Again cheers Mate, I'll look into it.

£50 a night seems good, I live just up the road and dalton is a nice town, theres a good animal park and some good pubs, its not a tourist town but your only 30mins from the lakes.
before anyone comments,I have no idea who owns this, its just that I know dalton so can vouch it would be an ok place to stay.0 -
