Beko Washing Machine NOT doing fast spin at end of cycle!

Options
Hi all,

I have a Beko washing machine which has been working fine until I moved house recently.

Now it does everything but the fast spin at the end of the cycle. So it spins normally, fills with water and drains the water but when it comes to the fast spin part it just stops leaving all the clothes sopping wet.

I have put it in test mode and the fast spin does work, so it can't be a belt problem but not sure what it could be.

Any ideas?

have you checked there is nothing in the filter underneath ?
  • Exactly what bear1969 wrote. Your machine probably can't drain the water fast enough because the filter is clogged.

When you moved, did you (or removals) fit the locking bolts in the back of the cylinder? The machine will work at low speed fine, but will certainly cut out of spin if they are left in. It stops it stabilising.

Filter is a more likely option.... but this is worth checking.

Yes its as previous posters have said, when the filter is clogged the water cannot drain quick enough and the fast spin cycle times out and does not run. We had the same issue this week and found the filter was clogged with 8 years worth of limescale, buttons and shirt collar tabs :-) once it had a good clear out the machine works perfectly now.

  • Cheers guys, I have checked the filter at the bottom and cannot see any blockages at all.

Also put the drain hose in a bucket and it seemed to be getting rid of the water no problem.
  • Can you hear the machine drain properly when in use? It could be a blocked drain pipe or a broken pump
  • When my washing machine stopped spinning it was the brushes that were worn down.

Most modern washing machines have a delay spin or no spin option that is perhaps useful when running a cycle while you're out but delaying the spin until your return.

Is it possible that you have occidentally activated this feature?
If so, have a look in your user manual to 'unset' it.
  • The machine is draining during the normal spin as I put the end of the drain pipe in a bucket and the water was coming through normally.

I've heard the brushes could be a problem but why would this only affect the fast spin?

Will check the delay/no spin option you mentioned.

    Thanks,

    MM
  • Another thing is when I put the machine in test mode the fast spin worked no problem.
