Car insurance renewal

My tesco renewal has come through with a 10% increase which is a bit disappointing! Funny thing is they are offering me £675 (thats with 5yrs NCB but 2 claims in the last 3 years) - but go on the tesco website and the premium comes out at £528 (after selecting the same excess value as the renewal letter).

Is the website offer for "new customers only"? Is there anything to stop me saying I am not renewing then buy a new policy through the website for 150quid less?

The mere fact that they're quoting different prices on two separate quotes would make me try elsewhere anyway. Try the comparison sites, try a few other online insurances too. I've never had a renewal quote that I couldn't beat by checking up a few others.

The online quote is always cheaper. If you look on the Tesco site it states 15% discount for buying online.
But I too would look elsewhere don't forget to look at the quotes from companies that have links from the cashback sites such as Quidco.
