Help with Competition Links

Hi
I am trying to be helpful and put some competitions on the website, however I am having a problem inserting a link.
I have tried cutting and pasting the link, I can copy, but the option to paste does not become available.
I have tried just typing it in, but some are very long - any helpful advice would be very welcome?
Thank you

You can press ctrl + V to paste

:cheesy: Sorry if I am telling you things you know but if you want to paste have you done Control + C for copy ("blocking" the URL from the address bar)and Control + V for Paste?
Then you should get the entire address in your Message.
e.g.
http://www.somerfield.co.uk/ourcommunity/competitions/index.asp
Once you find you can paste then you can type something in your message like
Block those words then press the Insert Link symbol - with the World and something which looks like a Chain Link underneath the Earth - clear the "http" alongside "URL",
and then paste in the entire address viz.
But if you have got problems pasting I don't know how to get around that.0 -

CAREFUL IF YOU COPY AND PASTE - COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT. There's already been a warning sent to dengolby under Did I really infringe copyright? Go to page 40"Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm Welsh" Cerys Matthews0

Well Control C and control V both work when pasting text into the message box, but when I try to paste the link into the url dropdown box everything is greyed out so it won't let me - beats me!:o
Thanks for the copyright warnining - I dont copy pictures just the link addresses, is that ok?DEBT FREE since 2011

We all do that in someway or another. Some very clever people do a 'clicky' but that's beyond me."Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm Welsh" Cerys Matthews0

And me Nonsonddu ~ one of these days I'll have a bit of time to actually read the instructions and try, but until then, I'll stick to the URL.0

OK NOSONDDU & furndire try this
(Please don't be offended, just trying to help you 2 comp posters be happy!)
When you are posting a comp & want to put in a URL...
Type in some text that you want as your clicky.... eg, CLICK HERE
Next you need to go copy the URL that you want to put in your post.
Then you need to click an icon on the second row of the posting box icons - on the line that starts with B I U count along 11 little boxes, number 11 should be an icon that looks like the world with a paperclip underneath it. If you hover your mouse over it it says 'Insert Link'.
So then highlight your CLICK HERE words that you just typed & then hit the 'Insert Link' icon. This brings a pop up box onto your screen.
Delete out the http:// which shows in there as the link you have copied will already contain everything it needs to work. Copy in your link & click the OK box.
You should end up with CLICK HERE a working link! *crosses her fingers that this has worked*Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out

I'll give it a try tomorrow, when I'm not so tired. Thanks Velvetglove.0
