Overpaid Tax - Paying in installments - Apply again benefits?

Hi,


I had an over payment of HB for the period Dec 2013 - Feb 2014 which was around £375. Council sent me later few months back for that payment which i setup a direct debit repayment plan. Also I paid a lump sum money towards the due amount and now only £70 due to them.

Can I apply for the benefits again even though still £70 is outstanding or do i need to wait till i settle the above amount.

Cant i tell the HB to take off that money from my future payments?

you can still apply for housing benefit.
if you are entitled, then benefit will be paid.
they will take any arrears from the current award

Did you not notify them you had been overpaid at the time, as advised when you posted about your "friend"?
