my car insurance is due for renewal soon, and as i have been searching for a cheaper quote, i have noticed the charge for the insurers legal protection cover. although i have paid this in the past, i'm starting to wonder if i need it, and is it just another way of getting money from me?

You would need legal protection in the case of if you ever need to claim against anyone else . For example if someone went into you then disputed it was their fault. Its up to you whether you take it really or not really.Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0

is it possible to buy legal protection seperate from your annual insurance?
my renewal from broker states LP as £15 but nearly all online quotes have it as £24'ish
edit: ok sorted it, legal cover with the RAC (all ready a member via tesco clubcard) joint cover £20 a year works out alot cheaper as we have 2 cars so were paying £15 (wifes) and £20 (mine)......result!"we don't stop playing because we get old; we get old because we stop playing."0
