Don't panic Dragon- it may be that they have gotten some results for you that will help get to the bottom of your predicament. :) Take heart. x

Let us know how it turns out, Dragon, I know a phone call like that is scary, but if you know what's going on, you can start to sort things out. Lots of hugs for you and the Furry Dragon (tm).

Okay just back from my medical appointments and the Furry Dragon (tm)'s appointment. Furry Dragon (tm) is a-ok and has been kennel cough treated (as in to make sure he doesn't get it!) so he can now go on his holiday. I have an underactive thyroid (at least cholesterol and diabetes test results not back BUT if my cholesterol is raised it will be due to the thyroid condition), so now on thyroxine for life (silver lining - never have to pay for prescriptions again! and should be able to claim back some of my pre-payment prescription certificate).

The weight gain/non loss and the reduced healing rate is more than likely caused by this so hopefully once they get the dosage sorted I should lose weight more easily. Hit me a bit like a body blow though as it is yet ANOTHER thing wrong with me (and I could yet have diabetes as well)

hugs Dragon, it certainly does explain a lot. I've got to make a follow up appointment this week for my test results. Now you know what you're facing they can get it under control and hopefully you will be able to shift some weight
  • Aww Dragon- it explains an awful lot. Two good friends of mine are both on treatment for their Thyroid and both had completely different symptoms. One had diabetes and her thyroid went funny afterwards- so in all honesty until tests are all in, i wouldn't worry too much about it as you will be able to sort it. At least now, you can stop feeling so rotten about yourself and thinking that you have not been doing things as you should.
Massive hugs and here's to an energised Dragon...xx

Thanks El, LT and Bob!! It does explain a lot yes, it also means that my weight loss plans will have to be put on the back burner until the tablets are sorted out - on the bright side I never need to pay an NHS prescription again

So today is getting my head around this and doing some stitching (and my "homework" :p)
