How do you check if you've had PPI?

How can I check mortgages, credit cards and loans for mis sold PPI?

We have held a mortgage for over 20 years plus had loans and credit cards etc during this time. Some have now been paid off or accounts closed but it would be useful to know how to go about checking.

Any info greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Most mortgages have the MPPI as a standalone monthly direct debit to the insurer. (one of the reason why most MPPI is rejected as that is how it should be).

Credit card PPi appears on the statements.
loan PPI appears on the agreements.

As for old debts no longer in force, you ask the lender if you had it or not.

Remember that there is nothing wrong with having PPI. Your complaint would be about the sale of PPI and you would be making an allegation of wrongdoing.

As Dunstonh said, you would need to approach the lender(s) on an individual basis and ask them. However, they will only be able to tell you whether you had it or not. Any complaint regarding the way a product was sold would need to be based on your own recollections.
