We are thinking of buying this. What do you think? Seems very good memory etc for the price. We just want a home computer, surfing the internet, downloading music, daughter likes to play 'the Sims' etc. Has anyone had dealings with this company?

take the warrenty down to one year and you've got it for 446.
it doesnt come with speakers but you can get a decent 2.1 system for under 30 quid at ebuyer0 -
Thanks for your suggestion. Actually on 8 August we ordered one from Dell. They put back the delivery date once already and yesterday they put it back to 27 September, citing problems with their suppliers. We don't want to wait that long, so cancelled the order. Don't trust them now!0

Bump! (sorry)
Anyone else used this CUBE company. Any opinions?0 -
Deal seems ok... not great but ok. The memory is actually pretty standard and you can get 2Gb for £50 so its nothing to shout about. You are being lumped with a built-in graphics card *shudder* so don't expect anything quick or fancy when it comes to graphics - if its just word processing you need it for then its fine. So long as your daughter doesn't decided she wants to play newer games...
What other upgrades on the basic system are you going for?Faith is believing what you know ain't so...0 -
Oops - when I saw your reply I had already ordered it! We have upgraded to Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 processor (£39) Vista Home Premium instead of just Home (£20), added a memory card (£19) and Norton Anti-virus (£35).
I am thinking it will be OK for us though as we are definitely not 'advanced gamers' I mean several times we have offered to get daughter a games console for birthday or Xmas and she is just not interested. She only wants 'the Sims' and to go on things like MSN and Facebook or whatever its called.
We really didn't want to spend £1,000 or more on our new PC because it will probably be outdated in 4 years or less.0 -
if thats all you want it for I'm sure it will be fine. Though you would have been just as good going for a free anti-virus like avg or avast (they don't slow your PC down as much and are less intrusive)
Only people who need to spend £1k on a PC are serious gamers, so you're in no danger of needing anything spectacular.Faith is believing what you know ain't so...0
