Credit card gift cards

Options
Hi - has anyone used pre loaded credit cards as gift cards? I am looking to give a gift to a relative of a trip overseas and will need to load about £3K onto a card that they can use to book flights, hotel and some spending money. I thought a card would be safer than travel vouchers but I can't seem to find a card that fits the bill - some don't allow that amount to be loaded and the others seem to want monthly fees. Any ideas?

Split the money onto 2 or 3 cards.

You looked at the pre paid cards section on here ?

As above £3k is quite a lot for one card so I would split the balance over more than one card. Take one with you all the time and leave one lodged with the hotel reception locked away in a safe. If you lose the card you've got with you it's not a disaster as you've got another one back at the hotel.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
