My Toshiba Satellite laptop cursor keeps freezing.
This has been happening for the past week or so, and I am getting conflicting resolutions when I Google the problem.
I tried to do a system restore to fix the issue, but when I tried, my system is telling me there are no system restore points !!
Help.

sounds like you have some infections.... reboot in safe mode with networking, get mbam, adwcleaner and jrt (all from bleepingcomputer.com). Run them in safe mode to start with, should enable you to then reboot to normal mode and run all three...starter for 10......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I still have this problem from time to time. I have troubleshooted all device drivers, software, run all scans with mban, avast, adw cleaner, roguekiller, checked any iraq conflicts. I thought it could be an overheating problem to got it professionally cleaned inside. Got new mouse and battery and reinstalled Vista. Still a couple of times a day I have to do a hard restart. The only remaining thing I can think of is a PSU problem.
Mine is HP Compaq Presario with Vista.
If you find out the solution please post back.“Learn from the mistakes of others. You can never live long enough to make them all yourself.”

this kind of thing usually happens if 1. you've got infections or 2. there's too much running for your system to keep up (1 can cause 2, but if the lappy is clean then it's just using too much system resource RAM & CPU).

You might want to grab the latest touchpad driver/BIOS from Toshiba: http://www.toshiba.co.uk/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=UK
The touchpad driver that shipped with a lot of their laptops over the past year has been a load of *expletive deleted* and just stops working half the time.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
