September #BakeFail competition
"As Great British Bake Off is in full swing, there is a real buzz on social media with viewers sharing baking puns, their favourite quotes from the show and which contestant they are rooting for. Some have been tempted to join in and attempt to recreate the dishes that have caught their eye, meaning that baking enthusiasts are filling our newsfeeds with beautiful cakes and desserts.
However, while baking may look easy in the snippets shown on television, in reality there are steps and adjustments that the amateur baker may miss and it’s easy to get carried away and think “I could do that” and throw a dinner party – inviting all of your friends to show off your new found baking prowess – only to serve a congealed lump of chocolatey dough swimming in lumpy crème anglaise!
But don’t worry if you’re not particularly kitchen savvy, you can whip out that Coppenrath & Weise gateaux if your peanut butter fondants end up like ours!
If you are culinary challenged but still want to get involved in the baking hype sweeping the nation you can join our competition. Tweet us your most spectacular baking fails at @VickyCoppenrath with #bakefail or post the photos with the name of the dessert that you attempted to create on our Facebook page. Our five favourite fails submitted over the course of September will win a £15 shopping voucher!"
