    Hi

Well I managed to exit February with £50 in the savings pot and on Monday I added an additional £200. Wahoo!

I have the following to purchase this month:

£25 present for dads birthday in April - paid out of the present fund
£10 present for Mothers Dad - also paid out of the present fund
£70+ passport - already saved up
£10 on pictures for said passport - to be paid out of wages
£15 eye test - unavoidable and to be paid out of wages
£15 facial - put off from last month - cash saved from last month and waiting in pig pot

Hopefully other than bills this will be it for the month.

    Watch this space.

Well it is the 10th of the month and i'm ready for an update.
Most of the above has been paid - I needed glasses but mummy helped me out and paid for them. They were only £40 so not too bad.

I just have to pay for the facial but I have the money.

Managed to sell two lights that I have and made £8, which is in my home pot and when I get a nice chunk, I will add it to the ISA pot with the £250.

Thanks about as much as I have for now.

    xx

Wow its been a while since I was here.

I managed to get about £400 in the fund, however I am going on holiday with it :) Leave in a few days. I am going to my friends hen do and it will be my first holiday in 7 years, so I think I deserve it.

I am being much more careful with my money. For example it was payday yesterday and I only have paid my mortgage (everything else is direct debits) and I haven't spent anything else. I will have a spendy ish day on Saturday, but its holiday prep and I cancelled everything that was not necessary.

I will save money this month on fuel and food as I will be away for almost a week and going to my mums for a week at the end of the month as well, so hopefully I will add loads to the pot. I think I have over budgeted so hopefully I'll come home with Euros and my parents will buy them off me as they will want them for their holiday, so anything left will go back into the saving pot.

Well this is a post I never thought I'd ever get the chance to write.
I sold my flat :) Well depending on contracts being exchanged obviously, but should all go to plan, and theres no reason why they shouldn't, then I will walk away with 24K equity.

I have already spent 12K - my parents gave me the money to pay my car off, but they will take this back from the proceeds, confusing, but the money will go to them and not me, but they will transfer the remaining 12K to me once done. I have no reason to believe that this wouldn't happen.

I am now looking for my own home and applying for mortgages as well, and I am £100's of pennies a month better off already. :)

I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulder. I have not enjoyed living in the flat for various reasons, so now its time to move home for a short time, while I find my ideal place. I will save money on Gas, electric, council tax, water, and TV licence/package while I am at home, so I should have over £800 per month to put towards the deposit and moving costs etc.

Maybe it will be time to re-name my diary....

  • Hey!
Just an update. House sale fell through (for 5 weeks) then started up again. Its almost at the ends stages (I know we are not out of the woods yet, can still fall through again), but various people have spend enough money that it should complete soon.

I have found a new home and an offer was accepted on it. I have an appointment with the mortgage broker this week to start the procedure for buying my new home.

I am living with my parents (took the cat with me) and up to now, not managed to save anything, but only because I am still paying the mortgage/utilities on the old house. Next month should have some money left over :)
