Fistral Beach Parking Fine - Help Please

Hello everyone,
This is my first post on the forum. I am in need of help with relation to a parking charge notice that I received yesterday.
Last month (August), me and my wife were on holidays in Cornwall. On the last day of our trip (22/08/15), we stopped over at the Fistral Beach for a few hours.
Being new to the area and not knowing that Fistral Beach had a closer car park, initially, I parked at the Tower Road Car Park (about 6-8 minutes from the beach) for three hours (13:35 to 16:35) - receipt available (Paid through Paybyphone). We roamed around the beach for a while and then had lunch at one of the restaurants at the beach front. I then walked back to the Tower Road Car Park to get the car since my wife wasn't feeling well enough to walk back. So I went, picked the car from Tower Road Car Park and drove to Fistral Beach parking area. My wife was in the toilets when I got there so I just stopped at the car park (kept sitting in the car with the engine running) and did not use a parking bay. My wife came back from the toilets and we left the parking area.
To my surprise, yesterday (01/09/15) I received a parking charge notice for £100 (early payment; £60) from Smart Parking with the photographs of my car entering and leaving the site at 16:08 and 16:30 respectively. £100 for 22 minutes!
I just went to parking area to pick up my wife. I do accept that it took a bit longer but during the time I always sat in the car with the engine running without using a parking bay. Also, the parking fee that I paid at the Tower Road Car Park ran till 16:35 anyway.
As a brief background, I am an avid parking fee payer as I believe parking fee should be duly paid where ever it is due. This is my first parking fine. Just through paybyphone, I have paid around £500 just since Jan-15 (receipts available). These exclude the parking fees paid through card/coins at the parking machines.
Could someone please guide me what to do in this regard? If an appeal has to be made, could someone please refer me to the right template for appeal and who to appeal to?

engine running , engine stopped , irrelevant, stationary on private land is occupying the land (or trespassing) and therefore you abide by the parking rules or leave, in this case buying a ticket or leave , promptly
in any case, appeal using the template in the NEWBIES sticky thread (you have read it? ) , then appeal to the Ombudsman Service when not so smart refuse the appeal
the fee at the other car park is to a different parking company too
ps:- its not a fine, its a speculative invoice (wont even say the word FINE on the paperwork)0 -
