Ukpc

I have received two separate Notice to Keeper charges for £100 from UKPC for "stopped in a prohibited area". These were incurred when pulling into a small side street when picking up my daughter after work. Never noticed any signs and we were not given a ticket. I am really surprised that this can be classed as private land. The address they are quoting on the NTK is of the multi storey car park that is adjacent to this road, but not the road we were pulled in. I have spent a long time reading all the advice here and have sent off an appeal for the 1st one received using the template on the main MSE page. For the second appeal I am not sure whether to use the same letter again or to use the email template which is in the Newbie thread. Any help? I understand that I am then likely to receive a POPLA code. I would really appreciate some help when I get to this stage as this is all new to me but I am so reluctant to pay £200 for pulling over for less than 5 mins

The Newbies sticky outlines and links to many examples of successful POPLA appeals. That should be your next stop now. :)

always use the template in the Newbies sticky thread

popla are no longer accepting appeals and not in force after the end of this month, so any future appeals will go to the Ombudsman Service (who are replacing popla)
  • Ok thank you, I will use the email template in the Newbies thread for the 2nd NTK. Sorry, yes I have read that any future appeals will go to the Ombudsman Service. Believe me, I am trying to read everything I can. I am so glad that I have something here to help with this.

use the forum search box to find recently approved popla appeals and then plagiarise them to draft one for yourself in WORD

that way you are ahead of the game as I doubt they will cancel at the first stage

people will help you but only if you do the work and then ask for guidance and critique, nobody will do it all for you for nothing, these are your appeals, so draft them as homework and then ready them for further help and advice, should the need arise

if you do get any POPLA codes, register them on the POPLA website for passing to the OS

once the OS start up, we will know better how they will deal with these matters and codes
  • Thank you Redx, I will start doing that, of course I am quite prepared to put in the work, its just reassuring to get some feedback that you are on the right tracks.

UKPC are in a whole heap of trouble for allegedly altering the times on parking tickets. Do a bit of research and keep watching, their days as a member of the BPA may well be limited

POPLA will still exist, just run by a different company.
Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.
  • there have been a couple of cases on here and pepipoo , of UKPC "straying" from there designated area , can you confirm that the land is not private , and signed clearly , is it possible to give us a google map view , or even state the road/town for people to check this out?
