I have decided to send them a letter registered post quoting the Sale of Goods Act and pointing out that even if MDF were wood then the description should have included glue and formaldehyde!
Shall see what happens...
What is this registered post you speak of?
Does it still need to be secured with string and sealing wax?0 -
Not saying this is right or wrong, but to me if I was buying the type of item you wanted I'd expect it to be advertised as "solid wood".
Anything listed as just being wood would be getting me asking questions before I ordered it.
Again, not saying that it has any legal standing, but in my head there is a distinction between wood, which can be pretty much anything and solid wood.0 -
OP do you have a link to the unit you bought?0

Afraid I can't post links (yet).
Here are a couple of screen grabs. First shows the item I bought, second shows similar item described as MDF.
Material description at bottom of image.
You might have to right click image to see at full size...0 -
For convenience, here is a link to the OP's purchase:0

I do feel it's misleading to call it wood. Although you usually would be told more info like the wood type.
Who have you spoken to at the Victorian Plumbing? Might be worth trying to talk to a manager.0
