Changing wireless thermostat

Ive got a 10 year old Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30cdi combi boiler with a wireless thermostat.

For some reason the wireless thermostat keeps unpairing recently with the boiler and I have to take the batteries out and try and re-pair it over and over again until it connects.

If I was to replace the thermostat, do I have to also replace the wireless receiver on the boiler as well?

I replaced mine with the same model as the old one so it paired up easy.
  • It could be either the thermostat or the receiver that's faulty. Would hate for you to buy a new stat only to find its a faulty receiver

What make/model is the thermostat? If it's a good one then it might be worth trying to identify the faulty part and replace, otherwise it's a good excuse to buy a Nest, Hive or whatever.

Yes you will need to replace the receiver if you get a different model, but it should be an easy like-for-like swap.
