Can GCSE examiners make mistakes

I really don't think that is the point. She worked hard and expected a top grade. That can be quite a blow to take at that age (at any really) to feel that you didn't get the result of your hard work especially if you suspect that it is an error. If your daughter really has the talent to be an actress, I don't think getting a B instead of an A will make any difference to her future career. How she progresses at Drama School will be far more important.
Clearly the school didn't agree with the results, so I would definitely encourage to have it remarked. Even if it comes back the same, at least she can learn from it and what could have gone wrong.0 -
Well a B sounds great, and it is quite possible that it's right, but you have nothing to lose getting it re-marked.
Good luck to your daughter in her future career! Is she hoping to do drama at college? Then do a course in uni? There are some great performing arts courses out there at regular universities, and also some great performing arts colleges; I know several people who are on a course at a theatre school in Manchester.
And there are some great alumni from this theatre school too, (and many others,) so tell her to ignore the negative attitude she gets from the naysayers who think that acting and drama is a dumb career choice, or a 'soft' degree. They're either just jealous and bitter that they are not getting the chances she is getting, OR they plain and simple do not understand the craft of performing arts.
Yes of course, if someone has the natural talent, they should make it without going to learn at school, but having training, will enhance their already natural talent.
What a blessed girl she is, having such support. Many kids don't; especially those wanting to perform for a career.
