Moved house, so suppliers for gas/elect are now a different company.
I have been told I am not a new customer, but have never been with them before, how's this?

It's probably because you are on a 'deemed contract' which is linked to the property and passes to you automatically from the previous account holder. Make sure that you have the meter readings from the day you moved in.A_Frayed_Knot wrote: »Moved house, so suppliers for gas/elect are now a different company.

Deemed contracts are very expensive, and you need to switch asap to a cheaper tariff. The current supplier will almost certainly have some cheaper (fixed-term) tariffs, but they might involve paying exit fees if you find an even cheaper tariff elsewhere. When you switch, you probably be regarded as a new customer, but I'm not sure why you think it matters...mad mocs - the pavement worrier0 -
Sometimes, companies have incentives for either staying or joining them. That was just a thought, as if you don't find out about it now then later is too late.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190

More info needed.
What does it matter to you if you are a new customer or not? Presumably you are trying to take advantage of a particular offer only open to new customers?
If so, what is the offer?0
