Epson Printer Problem

Hi everyone, was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for my printer problem. I have an Epson Stylus Photo 915. Whenever I print anything on card or matte paper (using the settings for such when printing) I seem to be getting black banding printed as well. It seems to be evenly spaced across the printout, which I guess means it could be a problem with the rollers when I'm using card, but I'm not sure what to do. I've fed several sheets of paper and scraps of card through of different thicknesses, but its not helped. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Open the lid and wipe the rollers with some cotton wool soaked in thinners.0

Well, I cleaned the rollers, didn't help. The second the cartridges moved across the rollers got inky again, so I cleaned everything inside the printer, only as its well out of warranty. I used tissues to soak up the ink on the pad the cartridges are over for cleaning, which was soaked through. I also ran the cartridges over some folded kitchen towel to mop up anything under there and boy was I surprised how much ink was there. I then used a mini vac to clean inside in case there was any dust, cleaned it all, ran a few sheets of paper through to get any excess and now it seems to be printing fine. Will just have to do this every now and again to prevent build up of ink.Grocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £3650

Have you done a lot of printing on your printer? Sometimes they come up with a 'req service' indicator, which usually means they need there soak up pad replacing.0

I haven't done that much printing, and none for a while as I had trouble getting new colour inks for it. Nothing has come up indicating a new pad is needed, but that may be something to look into as another option.Grocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £3650
