PPI without my knowledge

Many years ago ( 15ish) I discovered I had been paying some kind of insurance for illness cover with my bank Barclays . I only discovered it because the wording on my statement had changed from Barclays services to something else ( can`t remember ) It was for £12 a month and at the time I looked back at statements it had been being taken for 10 years , I had thought it was account charges . I contacted Barclays to find out what it was and eventually discovered it was an illness insurance . I wrote to Barclays to cancel explaining that I had never asked for this , it was useless as I wasn`t working due to a long term illness ! They sent me a cheque for £300 as a gesture of goodwill but I worked out that I had paid over £1000 . PPI was unheard of at the time and to be honest I didn`t think I would see any of the money back so was happy just to get some of it . My question is as I have no statements anymore and cannot remember my account number is there a chance of getting the rest of the money at this late stage . I have tried to fill a form in on the Barclays site but you need details ie bank account number and specific dates to enable you to send so that is not an option .

You will need o send them a SAR and £10 o find out what the account number was.
As you've already complained about it and eceived a goodwill gesture, the chances of more are either slim, or if you are successful, they will take off what money you have already been paid out.
Although they will probably time bar your complaint because it's over 15 years ago.....

Plus, the op already complained and they paid out a figure which was accepted rather than appeal with the FOS within the 6 month timescale.

It would require Barclays to voluntarily reopen the complaint.
