East midlands airport car parking

Going away in Oct from EM airport. Looked on their site & it will cost upwards of £50 to park for about a week there. Any hints on getting it cheaper or is this the norm?

I'm flying from there in a few weeks and when I first looked into parking the prices seemed quite high (£80 quid or so for 13 days) but upon booking our flights (sorting the holiday out independently) with Ryan Air they were offering discounted parking so it's only costing about £38 now.

I guess an alternative is to look at 'park at my drive' and see if you can get something cheaper there.

We've used Airparks at EMA in the past and found them far cheaper than on-airport parking. They are quite close to the terminal and the coach service was good. EMA used to be a good airport to fly from but then they seemed to change policy to scam you for everything possible. They even tried to get £1 out of you for a plastic bag for liquids when most airports give them out for nothing. Security can be chaotic too.
