British Gas complaint

I would nt waste your time contacting the press, its not much of a story for them. We get a lot of these mess ups.sometimes its started by a simple address mix up, usually post code, eg DN4 becomes DN14 or Victoria St becomes Victoria Rd. The gas meter serial number they think you are should be able to be traced back to the correct address via National Grids data base. Some British Gas customer is sat back having free gas for 2.5 years. It could even be a few houses down the road from your Dad0

Yes -that's the problem! The fact that it happens 'a lot' does not translate into 'it's therefore OK'sacsquacco wrote: »We get a lot of these mess ups
So, in the light of the complaints from the OP et al, why haven't BG taken the trouble to consult the National Grids data base?sacsquacco wrote: »The gas meter serial number they think you are should be able to be traced back to the correct address via National Grids data basemad mocs - the pavement worrier0 -
I agree, its about time that the simple mess up was sorted .Probably because the address who should have been receiving the bills is quite happy with the status quo, free gas, and is nt raising any complaints to BG, who have a dedicated team for this sort of thing.. "It happens a lot " translates into..don t bother with contacting the press unless there s an interesting angle to the story such as," received a bill for £250000 " or "householder cut off electricity for 3 years because of a meter fault ", both real stories by the way.modsandmockers wrote: »Yes -that's the problem!
