I see The Lidl combination microwave is back In store this Thursday.
At £79 and a 3 year guarantee it appears attractive . I need a new microwave and I'd think seriously about this one. Anybody with personal experience of this microwave http://www.lidl-ni.co.uk/en/Offers.htm?action=showDetail&id=27635
As always thanks for you input.

Would you use all those settings, Kevin. If you did, you could ditch the main cooker.0

Like all members here I like to get the most bang for my buck and this seems to tick all but one box - what do those who have one think of it in a real life situation0 -
I have combi microwave, it often gets used as a secondary oven when we need to cook something at a different temperature.
Mine is a Panasonic, was £260 in Argos, but I paid £40 to an eBay seller, it was brand new, but transport damaged (small scratch on one side). Same goes for my £750 AEH fridge/freezer, cost me £270 with a slight dent on the top and my oven itself, side scratch, £560 worth of stainless steal loveliness, cost me £200.
My money saving advice is to buy from retailers selling slightly damaged goods, you often still get the manufacturers warranty, but you get a top quality product for half the retail price.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

£79
bought a brother 3 in 1 some ex-demo and shop damaged some 23 years ago and paid £279 real price £368, from Iceland and is still working. Never used my real cooker's oven ever since purchase.
Grill get used least, the problem with the grill is the high heat design, so once the grill is used on mine, the microwave will not work till it is cooled down.0 -
Come what may I bought one this morning as Lidl only seemed to have five on the shelf at my local store, and anyway I have two weeks to do some more research.
Even though I've bought the microwave I wood still be very interested in hearing from anyone who has a lidl microwave. Call it research and it might help other punters

I don't know about the microwave quality, but did find that three of their own brand (ie Silverline) heated pads failed within warranty.
I forgot that the first was under warranty (it was only £10) and lost the receipt for the second, but I took the third back and they gave an immediate refund. They could not replace as stock is only available for a few weeks at most.0
