Saddened to see today that Lidl have introduced "free" landfill plastic with every £10 spent ( or you can purchase for 29 p each ). Really, do they need to give out little plastic characters in order to capture the minor market? Luckily I didn't have the kids with me so was able to say "no thanks" without getting it in the ear. I'll have to make sure they aren't with me in the future too

Agree, Golden., thought Lidl was an ethical company when they first came to town. No cigarettes, no sweets at the till area and a charge for plastic bags. Nowadays seems just like a cheaper Tesco.0

Haha, your place must be a bundle of fun!
"daddy/mommy!!! Can we go to the shops with you today?? Pleeeasse"
"No son/daughter, they have little plastic toys which they give out for free and I don't want you nagging me in the queue for one"
"But mummy/daddy always takes us!!!"
"Yes well your mummy/daddy doesn't yet know about those darned plastic toys. Just you wait until they get home from work. You'll never be going again. Oh and whilst we are on the subject, you can forget about McDonalds and any other place which may give you the occasional thrill."
Haha but in honesty, you're right about the environment thing. Sadly, that is just how the world spins these days. Might as well give your kids a few cheap thrills every once in a while, if it makes them happy!0
