It's designed to be left on for long periods of time. I've been using mine for over 10 years - overnight, all day at work - really barely gets hot.Not giving up

PS had confirmation in writing today that my rent and service charge DD has been reduced to £443 pm (I was being overcharged at £479 for some reason!).
Fed up of being desperate to get paid every month and this wasn't helping. Just await the reimbursement now..six months of overpayment.
I do want to have some money for a bit of a social life so am going to look at my SOA again. I used to think nothing of spending about £120 pm on hobbies and more if I included occasional weekend breaks and holidays. I think I need about £50pm minimum if I can squeeze the money from elsewhere but for September and October I don't mind sacrificing going out. I am on a roll as well and to be fair have just been on hol..
Realised I can sacrifice food, travel and clothes even to an extreme amount, at least for a couple of months but after that I may need to ease up a bit. There's no other way..0 -

Ok great, I wondered how that worked! Mine is a small Breville one - really for one or two people but when I cook a stew I have about 8 or more portions - it fits loads in and the veggies taste amazing! As I'm not much of a meat eater I thought it might help me add a bit of meat to my diet, for flavour and nutrition without having to eat big pieces of meat. I made a minced beef stew in it a couple of times and it tasted great.0 -
Just noticed on your signature how long you have been doing DMP crazy cat lady! You guys are so strong on here! Not long to go for you I guess? I suppose it becomes a lifestyle and you find a kind of middle ground? Or extreme ground if you prefer!:)0

Slanket is the best investment too! 100% pure acrylic (i think) so keeps you crazy tostie, ours is usually slung over the sofa in winter, and can double as an extra blanket on the bed...helps you warm up quicker...
....can you tell I hate the cold and am always trying to keep warm!
Had no idea what a slanket was! Just looked it up - looks so cosy!:D. I'm in my fleece as we speak..and it's still 'summer'.0 -

I started my DMP in April 2010 - so it's been a long time for me. I owed almost £28000 through a combination of living beyond my means and my DH getting ill. There have been good months and bad months. I have just redone my SOA so that I can be debt free for Christmas. It means 4 really tight months now, but it will be the best Christmas present ever to be debt free.:D:D:D
I have lurked on this forum since 2012, and never had the nerve to post until last month. I used to suffer terrible anxiety, but CBT has turned me around and so I finally got the nerve to post. I wish I'd done it sooner...
Good luck with everything. You will get there. Don't give up - accept that life will throw obstacles in your way - you will do it one day.

I recently had cbt sessions for anxiety and depression..really good but i am just putting things into practice. Glad it helped you. I need some 1-1 sessions I think as I sometimes get really anxious..just started meditation which is helping. I just had group cbt via GP but it made a lot of sense. Just hard when panicking and hard to stop avoiding things.
That's amazing you've paid off so much since 2010! This forum really helps with having a different outlook and getting motivated!0 -

Hi Catriona. Nice to hear from you. I scrapped the diary as it was stressing me out! I feel this time it's working better and I am truly ready.0
