Call Divert a landline remotely

I'm looking for a way to be bale to induce a CallDivert remotely. e.g. setting my home line to divert to my mobile without having to be at home to set the calldivert.

A friend says that this is possible (after some kind of registration and PIN issued by BT) by dialling calling your own number and dialling a series of codes and the PIN. Apparently it was called "Smart Divert" but it is now something else.
Apparently they even give you a bypass number on the same line (which cannot be diverted) for emergencies.

Any of the experts here know?

It would be of great help for us to be able to do this.
