Hi All,
I'm about to have a Solar PV system installed and my electricity supplier is Extra Energy who I don't think are licensed FIT providers so I need to find an alternative.
Could I have some recommendations please?

I am sure you will get a whole host of views but I am with E.on and content. They did not have the best reputation but have really upped their game. Their staff are extremely helpful and when issues arise or errors occur on either part they have been quick and easy to resolve. They have an online system to record readings and pay within about a week. Now over to others to comment...0

Thanks for the response.
I thought I saw mention of some providers pay slightly more, perhaps on the export rate as an incentive, is this the case?0 -
No !
The rates paid as a IT payment are set by the Government and currently are index linked to rise each year but the starting point is based on the date of your systems install - as long as all the relevant paperwork is submitted correctly.
The generation rate and export rates paid are the same irrelevant of whichever company you choose to go to.
I'm with EDF and am very happy with them although they had problems back a the beginning for me nearly 4 years ago now.
There are some nightmare FIT payers though and I would suggest looking at the thread ;
Feed-in Tarrif payment delays- your experiences.
Good luck.

That would only ever be the case if they were also your supplier, which clearly does not apply to you.I thought I saw mention of some providers pay slightly more, perhaps on the export rate as an incentive, is this the case?2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.0 -
Do any of the FIT providers allow application online or is it all paper based, complete the form and post or scan and email?0

I'm with EDF. I did fill in the form, scan it and email it. They were happy with that a few years ago. I did post them the original anyway.
It took ages to process the initial application, but I still got paid for all that time when they finally asked for a reading. Now that it's sorted, I submit readings on-line and get paid only a few days later.
I've found their call centre quite helpful when I've needed them.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
Scottish Power has an online entry system or you can phone/email if you prefer. Payments made by BACS, usually 2-3 weeks later, so not the fastest on the planet.Do any of the FIT providers allow application online or is it all paper based, complete the form and post or scan and email?2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.0 -
E.on was snail-mail or scan and e-mail. Payment runs from the day they get the application and the initial reading for the day you submit the form. I talked my form and any questions I had through with them prior to the install and then scanned and mailed it to them as soon as I had the install info like serial numbers etc. Took a few weeks for them to complete the processing and then the first payment rolled in a week after I provided the reading 3 months after the install - simplest.0

Been with e on since July 2011, never had any issues except them wanting confirmation of my "unexpectedly high" generation figure for July. Very prompt payment3.995kWP SSW facing. Commissioned 7 July 2011. 24 degree pitch + Solar Immersion installed May 2013, after two Solar Immersion lasting just over the guarantee period replaced with Solic 200... no problems since0
