Planning Silver Wedding Anniversary Holiday

Hi Everyone,
My wife is celebrating our Silver Wedding Anniversary in March 2009 - and as in the previous 23 or so years, I'm paying for it;)
I am planning a surprise holiday for us, the MiL is arranged for the kids, I'm trying to save some money each month to pay for it, I anticipate having a buget of £2000-£2500 max for a weeks holiday, I just need to arrange something.
I have had a thought that we might do a cruise round the Med - Ocean Village do the sort of non-stuffy cruises that we might go for. We haven't done a cruise before and to be honest I'm almost sea-sick just thinking about it. We have had very few foreign holidays since we married and honeymooned in Gibralter, and I was hoping for some, preferably sensible, ideas and/or advice.
Many thanks in advance,
Martin

You wont get the Med in March on OV but for your budget you would get the Caribbean on the OV. We went on it for our 25th and had a geat tiem we have also done the Caribbean on it and again had a really good time. Dont worry about sea sickness just get the jab on the first day and you will be fine but ships now are so well stabalized it really isnt a problem unless its realy rough. As a guide off the OV site a 2 week Caribbean crusie will cost about £1380 each in march this can be ghot down by shopping around. A P&O cruise in March on Oceana will cost about £1347 again which can be brought done a good bit by shopping around. You could probably get a 10-14 ngiht one on NCL which is like OV in the way of freestlye dinning for about £1000If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0

We toured Switzerland for our Silver Wedding last year. We got cheapish Easyjet flights, hired a car, drove lots of miles, through small villages and via most of the passes stayed in some lovely hotels and both came back feeling it was the best holiday for years. Wouldn't hesitate to go again but personally wouldn't go back to Zurich - we found it too busy for our taste. Good luck with whatever you choose.0
