can I glue gutter brackets to metal shed?

Trying to get some guttering set up on my metal shed. Trouble is two of the places I would need to screw into are too close to the boundary fence to get at with a drill. Do you think I could get away with gluing the brackets on with something like gripfill or another strong grab-adhesive?
Cheers!

You could try Araldite, that's pretty strong stuff - so long as you can get everything nice and clean before you start, and can find some way of securing the brackets tightly whilst the glue cures.
Failing that, would it be possible to screw ( or bolt ) from the inside outwards ? It's a right fiddle to get the holes in the correct place, but with a lot of careful measuring it might work ?0 -
I think you'll need some sort of outdoor epoxy, as normal epoxy might not last too long in the frosts.0

Angle drill attachment or automatic centre punch then drill from inside
Never heard of anything so daft, glueing gutter brackets on!!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
A quick google brings up the question on other forums and people suggesting glue so doesn't strike me as that daft. There are plenty of adhesive products designed for outdoor applications so why on earth not?
I'm going to see if I can drill through from inside, but the construction is such that its not that simple and I could end up making a right mess and causing leaks if I can't drill through cleanly.0 -
Drill from inside. Attach with bolts, using rubber washers to seal. Final seal with mastic if needed, to ensure no leaks. Glue will fail in time, and probably when the gutter is at its heaviest with water, which will then pool.
Alternative, although not as effective, is to use wire through holes.0 -
Will give it a try, but the construction does not make this easy. Maybe I'll just out the gutter up on the one side where I can drill from the outside.0

If you have to use glue I have used these glues before and found to stick lots of different building materials assuming its not going to take a lot of weight
Evo-Stik Sticks Like Sh*t (screwfix)and SOUDAL FIX ALL of the two I think SOUDAL FIX ALL is best it feels like a rubber type of flue when set
I just used Evo-Stik Sticks Like Sh*t yesterday sticking wood on to my shed to make a very small lean to for storage of canes for allotment works a treat0 -
i would go for tiger seal all the car body shops etc use it for holding on boot spoilers and body kits etc and once it dries you wont get it off0

depending if both surfaces are flat/smooth, then do a good job of degreasing, then use VHB tape. I use it at work to hold all sorts of huge heavy objects together - one sort we use is used to put aircraft wings together, so it doesn't come apart easily.
But it won't be any good if you don't have smooth sound surfaces to stick to. Then you'd need something gunky like people above have suggested.Mortgage - £[STRIKE]68,000 may 2014[/STRIKE] 45,680.0
