Credit card and building credit

Hi,
I am currently in the process of rebuilding my credit after destroying it when I was 18 - I'm 27 now and have only just repaid all the debt!
I have a credit card which I am making small purchases on each month - £10-20 max, and then I am clearing it on each statement.
My question is, is this the right way to build credit or am I better making a slightly bigger purchase and paying it off over 2-3 months instead to show I can manage payments reliably?
Many thanks.

There's no need to spend more. Always clear in full each month, once the statement has been produced.0

Thanks for replying zx81, that's good to hear. I'll continue with clearing it each month then.
