    Just thought I'd give an update. PC turned itself off last night at 10:30pm and wouldn't turn back on.

    Turns out it is a PSU issue - it works fine during the day then gives out at night. Looks like I need a new shuttle PSU then ....

    Thanks to all who helped.

    If it's a 'silent' PSU it will probably cost about £50 compared to a standard PSU available for less than £10.
