50webs because i use them, i have no idea how they compare or if they are competetive, shouldnt admit that on here should i, oops.

£40 or so and i can host 10 websites and many subdomains, how does that compare?

I would go for either WebHostingBuzz or Namecheap. Both are reliable, offer basic packages for beginners and you can typically find hosting discount codes everywhere to get some initial money off when you order.
