How Do I find Out a Websites IP Address?

How do I find out the IP address of a particular website?
For the purpose of applying a Rule in my Broadband Router Modem?

    Or even easier - open a command prompt (Start -> Run -> Type 'cmd' and press Enter.

    In the dos window - type:

    ping www.google.co.uk

    and press enter.

    Obviously replace google with your website

    You need to be careful, if the website is using Round-Robin DNS. Using ping, or even that Self SEO website, gives you only one IP address in return. If multiple IP addresses are in use, this can lead to much head scratching, as your rule appears to work only some of the time. The correct program to use is [FONT="Courier New, Courier"]nslookup[/FONT]. So, your example becomes the following.
    [FONT="Courier New, Courier"]nslookup www.google.co.uk[/FONT]
    I’ve just checked with DNSstuff.com, and even that doesn’t give me all the IP addresses for www.google.co.uk.

    In general, where possible, you should always use domain names. The associated IP address could change at any time in the future.
