Eon/Swalec removal of prepayment meters
Hope someone can help with this.
I've just moved into our first home after renting the same property for 4 1/2 years with credit meters and never missed a payment or in debt. The house we have moved into has prepayment meters that I absolutely detest.
I have called Swalec this morning who will not change them as I am not on the electoral roll here yet and also as I did not meet their credit scoring criteria. I have had a fair few searches on my file the last few weeks with mortgage applications etc so I can only think of these as the reason.
My previous supplier Eon would probably want to do the same thing but I don't want another search affecting my score again. Has anyone had meters exchanged by Eon or another supplier for a deposit as this is something that I don't mind doing just to get out of Prepayment.

Get on the electoral roll - that is the biggest reason by far for failing a credit check.

Morning danjones hope the move went well
We will change the meters for free, but we do have to do a credit check. We'd only really be asking for a deposit if the credit check failed.
We'd also need to ensure there wasn't a debt on the meter, as you've just moved in I wouldn't think this is a problem for you.
We may also ask you pay by monthly Direct Debit.
If you need any more info from me, please just ask.

If you have only just moved in, it is unlikely that you are on the electoral role at that address yet.
Were you on the electroral role at your previous address? Most creditors wish to know all your previous addresses within the last 3 years (usually, at least in part, for this very reason)0
