I use Pages on my Mac, which comes as part of iWork. It has some excellent CV templates. The templates are much better than MS Word.
Only thing is you'll need a Mac - but you can download a trial of iWork from the Apple website.0 -

I would try to avoid useing the built in word templates myself especially if you are going for a job IT related. Almost everyone uses the same templates and the employers see them day in day out, even other templates not only the word ones will crop up often it shows that you dont really have a full ability to use word or whatever by using templates.
Use the templates for ideas but don't just copy them, try to come up with somthing unique that will show you have the ability to use more than just templates.
Same sort of thing for letters you send to employers if they all look the same it is normally becasue everyone used the letter templates.0
