holiday travel insurance with achillese tendon injury

I will be travelling to Malaysia on holiday in October .

My partner had surgery to reattach a snapped Achilles tendon two weeks ago .

Has anyone any ideas how much this would bump up a standard travel insurance ?

The only information I can find on line is that it does not need to be declared if the treatment is finished ..I am pretty sure she will still be being treated when the holiday arrives .

Any information much appreciated

Not sure if this should be under the holiday part of the forum ?

You may have been mislead. Completed treatment doesn't mean you need not disclose.

Normally insurers ask for details of all conditions requiring doctor/hospital in the last 12 months plus a longer history for certain conditions eg heart/breathing etc

Shop around for the best deal - different insurers will apply different loadings for different conditions

(If you already have the tickets you need the insurance cover now)

Without insurance, you have no cancellation cover.

The most claimed area of travel insurance is the cancellation cover.

If you are buying single trip cover, then you are covered against cancellation costs from the moment you take out the policy (which should be as soon as you book)

The cancellation cover is included at no extra cost (ie the premium is the same no matter how long before the trip starts you take out the policy)

I am going to sound dumb ..But what do you mean ?

I have just booked tickets and some air BNB rooms so if something is cancelled I will just book something else or not go.

Cancellation cover is in case any (covered) circumstance arises which forces you to cancel. (eg injury/illness/juryservice/unemployment/illness of your travelling companion etc etc)

    For future reference.
