Changing graphics card

I've just found out that my gaming problems have been caused by a graphics card that is just not up to scratch. The graphics card is integral with the motherboard and is only 64mb. I need to install a 256mb graphics card, I think i've found the right graphics card but can I run that alongside the integral one and also how do I find out if I have a PCI interface?

or open it up and look for the numbers on the motherboard
if it can take it then you disable the on board graphics from BIOSEx forum ambassador

You should only have to disable onboard VGA if you're installing a PCi card. If it's AGP or PCi Express, you'll probably not need to
