We will clean your oven ads

I am sure others have seen these people adverting to come and clean your over but I was thinking how do they do it.

Is it they are not afraid of very hard work and get into scrubbing at it?

Or

Do they have some miracle product that is so powerful it quickly does it?

I wouldn't care how they did it as long as the result was satisfactory.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

It's usually just a powerful steam cleaner dissolving the burnt on fat and grease then just wiping it all the mess up with a sponge. It's not quick it's takes a while. It's not economical to actually own this steam cleaner yourself only getting it out for a once in every 6 months job.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

    Wait, ovens need cleaning?

I thought that black smoke every time I try to cook a pizza was a feature, like giving that wood-fired effect or something.
  • We get oven man around twice a year. When we have cleaned the oven ourselves, we can't get it to look as good. It just looks like a new oven when he has finished. The removable bits go into a big bath outside by his van. He definitely doesn't use steam. Whatever his secret, it is well worth the money.

If you're in the market for a new oven, get one with pyrolytic cleaning... it may cost £100-£200 more, but that should pay for itself over time if you're currently getting your oven professionally cleaned - plus you can run the cleaning as often as you want...
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning

    How much does it cost?
  • Depends on oven size, but normally £30-£35.

Oven Pride, local supermarket, £4. Was recommended to me, and I found it excellent.
