Sorn required for scrapped car?
                    Hi,
I have had my car scrapped and received a certificate of destruction from the company collecting the car. Also had section 9 of the V5C filled in and ready to send back to the DVLA for selling to a trader/dismantler.
The car has a number of months of road tax remaining and I'm wondering what if anything I need to do to reclaim this? Do I need to declare SORN before the start of the new month, or with the certificate of destruction and Section 9 of V5C will I automatically get a refund for any full months after the date of sale/transfer?
Thanks

Your refund should be automatic but you'll need to fill in section 9 (‘Notification of sale or transfer’) of your V5C registration certificate and send it to DVLA0

Thanks. Out of interest, as I haven't posted the Section 9 yet the DVLA will receive it in Sept. Will I get a refund for September too as the sale date on the section 9 is in August, or will I forfeit the September refund as they will receive the paperwork part way through that month?0
