Unfair redundancy?

Hello,
I'm working for the company almost 4 years as one of the managers. Our director has changed 1 month ago. Now, i received information from my colleagues that employer want to make me redundant. i'm suspecting they want to pass my duties to another person under different job title.
Will this redundancy be fair?
Thanks

Hi
To justify a redundancy the work that you do has to have reduced or diminished. If there is evidence of this then they could legitimately make you redundant. Although if you colleague does has the same duties/job then they would have to pool and rank you against criteria and make a selection from the 'pool'.
If there are a few remaining tasks left over that you used to do then they can reallocate them.
The main thing is that they can prove that the type of work you do has reduced or diminished.Competition wins £14,136.30[\COLOR]0 -

It does not have to be the people doing the work, if there is a general reduction in work giving capacity to reduce the headcount they can redistribute the work and get rid of just about anyone.0
