Microsoft Works 95/Money

Hi everyone,I have just bought a new laptop with Vista Home Premium installed but without any packages. For the past ten years I have recorded all my banking, investments and household budget etc. on Microsoft Works for Windows 95/Money which I have found to be excellent and reliable. Now I have a new system I am at a loss as to how I should continue with this very important daily process as Vista will not install Windows Works 95 also, I need to transfer all existing files from my old PC (which only has a Floppy Disk Drive and CD Player but not a burner. My new Laptop has a CD/DVD burner and player and of course no Floppy Disk Drive.Heeeeeeelp!Dozey.x

Buy an up to date MS Works although I'm not sure if it'll work with the 95 files.

Works 8.5 OEM (supposed to be used only on a new computer) is £9.95+VAT from https://www.aria.co.uk

Have a look here though and see if any of these suggestions are of use:

  • Hi,

you could copy your stuff onto floppy and transfer with one of these, this is only an example, you may be able to find one cheaper.

Or, to save you buying one, copy onto floppy, try your local library, who might have one and transfer onto cd there, then transfer to laptop.
