Short overlap on car insurance

Bit of a quandary!
Car insurance comes up in late November, and I will be out of the country for 2 months before. I always go for cashbacks etc....yes, look after the pennies!
Would it be legal to insure my car with a different company from say 28th October, thus having an overlap of 3/4 weeks? It would certainly save money, esp as Saga charges a £50 cancellation fee.
I will of course phone Saga, but with an Aviva graet quote and £60 cashback, they will not be able to touch it.

Yes it would be "legal".
But if you currently hold any NCD bear in mind that your "new" policy will have nil NCD to use on it (as you will have it in use on the "old" policy).
If that's the case (that you do currently hold 1 or more years of NCD) then this won't be a cost effective exercise.0 -
Is there no internet where you are going?0

With most insurers you can set the date which the policy can start.0

Yes, but can you always do all of these things from abroad?
Problem with future dates is that you can only get quotes 30 days in advance.O would some power the giftie gie us to see ourselves as others see us.
