Online sewing courses
Options
Hello
I have a sewing machine at home and I can set it up and sew straight lines however I was looking for a basic course online that will get me started making things. There are local courses however they are outwit my budget and I wondered if there was a more affordable online version?

Craftsy does lots of online sewing courses and they often have offers, but why not try YouTube first?

Have a look on Pinterest and you tube. Both filled with awesome tutorials and ideas of how to start simple.

I was going to say YouTube and Pinterest too.
It's brilliant being able to watch tutorials on YouTube and follow along. Pinterest is great for getting inspiration, when you're looking to start a creative project.0 -

I found the best way was just to jump in with a project, then youtube bits you are stuck on.
This was my first project and I learnt so much:

I also came across this free crash course in sewing:

Craftsy is very good. They have a lot of special offers once you are on their mailing list."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

I agree with the You Tube suggestions. There are some excellent tutorials on there.
Also, if you set up a Craftsy account and put courses in your basket but don't buy then, you will soon start getting offers up to 50% discount. I have done one of the Craftsy courses, and it was excellent. They go through each stage very slowly, there is an online forum where you can ask questions and the teacher will reply, and people put photos of their finished articles on at the end.0
